Composer and sound designer
Montrealer Alexis Leroy-Pleshoyano — better known as Mada Mada — is busy as a composer and producer of film music, but he also lends a hand as a director and arranger for other artists (Sandrine St-Laurent , JAM). Despite his early twenties, Alexis Leroy-Pleshoyano won the Best Composer Award at the 2020 Montreal Independent Film Festival.
Mada Mada, his solo project, allows him to explore alternative electro and pop frameworks that contrast with the orchestral and neo-classical style of his professional projects. A graduate of Berklee College Of Music in musical composition, he met Charles-Alexis Desgagnés on the set of his first music video, Autonome. A friendly and artistic complicity is automatically established and the two Alexis have since collaborated on various projects. He notably composed the soundtrack for Octopoda (piece of 9 boys for the ESBQ show in 2022) and I cried this morning in the metro. He is also providing the music and sound design for L'appel des braises, a 55-minute solo to be broadcast in 2023-2024, performed and choreographed by Charles-Alexis.
